MARINA CHRISTOPHER is a rising star in the Seattle jazz scene. Her style of jazz enthusiastically embraces the music of pop and RnB, and her bass playing, singing and song-writing has an infectious feeling of joy. Born in Seattle, she began playing the electric bass at age 11 and began playing the upright bass a year later. She earned her bachelor’s degree in music at Central Washington University, then took off onto cruise ships and finally landed back in Seattle where she was a founding member of Mo Jam Mondays. Marina teaches at JazzEd and directs the Junior jazz band at the Washington Middle School. The release of her recording Marina and the Dreamboats has been a smash success.
ANN REYNOLDS is a composer, piano player and educator. She has played in NW Jazz community since mid 1990s, but is perhaps best known for her Cuban music. She has released two CDs of her own Cuban music compositions, covering a wide set of genres. In 2014 she released “Para Cuba Con Amor”, which received an Earshot nomination for Best Recording of the year and in 2019 released “Joy”. She has also played in several jazz big bands (including SWOJO) and other jazz settings over the past 25 years in Puget Sound. She teaches private piano lessons and is available for workshops and presentations.
