Italian born violin wizard Luca Ciarla owns the stage with his fiddle and a few toy instruments. This is a program of unusual arrangements of traditional Italian folk tunes, music from the Mediterranean area and original compositions - “…a magical acoustic seduction where everybody can find familiar influences…from genuine folk to sophisticated jazz.” Il Fatto Quotidiano (Italy)
He has successfully performed in jazz, classical and world music festivals and concert series in more than 60 countries around the world.
“Playing in 'real time' against one or more repeated samples provides an approach to 'music with repetitive structures' (the phrase that Philip Glass prefers to the less-informative word 'minimalism') that can be achieved by a soloist whose technical skills extend to the demands of the sampler. It also requires cultivating a skill for identifying the samples that should be captured and using them to their most imaginative advantage. Luca Ciarla is a soloist with those skills.” - The San Francisco Examiner
Our dinner menu this evening will include some of our regular menu items and will feature special Sicilian dishes and desserts prepared by Chefs Paola Albanesi and Margherita Conti.
