Caffè Musica presents an Emerging Artist Showcase, Friday, May 25th, 6:30 - 9:00pm: Serena Domínguez Albero hosts this month's showcase. Serena grew up in Cataluña, Spain, surrounded by a family of musicians and artists. Singing has always been an enormous part of her life. She started learning classical guitar at the age of seven and studied at a music school in Barcelona. She has been exposed to many styles of music such as flamenco, rock and jazz. She is a singer, songwriter, and interpreter of songs covering a wide-range of musical styles.
This evening Serena will welcome to the stage talented young musicians, Zoe Risley-Smyth, and Homie John.
Seattle native, Homie John, began playing and singing music as a young child and he began recording his original music two years ago at Undercast Studios. His influences traverse many genres from John Mayer to Andre Nickatina. John plays both piano and guitar. He is a self-described folk rap artist whose compositions aspire to comfort listeners.
Zoe Risley-Smyth currently studies with Pacific Northwest Ballet principal harpist, John Carrington. She has appeared with the Robert Eagle Staff and Hamilton Middle School Orchestras and has played at various other venues in the Seattle area. Her repertoire draws from Celtic Folk Ballads, Motion Pictures Themes, and other contemporary works sure to please your ears.
